Instructions: Watch this video and answer the questions. Then, read the script at the bottom of the page.

Online Investigations and Discussion Questions

Use the Internet to search for a spot to have a picnic near you, but it should be a place you have never been. Then, answer these questions:

  1. What is the name of the place?
  2. How much does it cost to enter and have a picnic there?
  3. What hours of day is the area open to visitors?
  4. What activities can you do there (e.g., swim, play games, fish, etc.)?

Video Script

Hi, I’m Randall, and I’m out looking for a picnic spot, and when I think of a picnic, I think of several things.

Number one: Who do I invite? Perhaps I invite people who don’t have friends and, uh, might need some company.

Number two: I often think about what kinds of food do I bring, especially for those who have dietary needs.

And finally, location, location, location. I try to choose a good spot that is close to perhaps a lake or things to do for children. Picnics are fun.
