When someone moves into a new neighborhood in your home city, what traditional customs do people do (or not do) to greet another individual or family? Do you take a gift or other item?

Hi, I’m Randall, and having positive, uh, wonderful relationships with your neighbors doesn’t just happen automatically. And I find there are three things you can do to promote this.

Number one, make sure that you keep your yard presentable. Grow some flowers, pick up some trash. If you have dogs, clean up after them.

Number two, if you’re going to have different activities in the evening with friends and family, make sure that you end things at a reasonable time. No neighbor wants to hear your loud music at two a.m. in the morning.

And finally, take the time to greet them. Say hello, take over some cookies, uh, things like that really improve relationships and help you have a positive experience in your neighborhood.
