Hi, I'm Randall, and I am outside in part of my wife's garden, (and) she grows cantelope in this area, and she practices what we call square foot gardening, that is, growing things vertically, and she does that for several reasons.
Uh, (the) first of all is that as you grow things vertically, it saves space; you don't have plants growing all over the ground. The other reason is that it protects the fruit from insects and water damage. And the last reason is is the fruit is much easier pick in the end when you're ready to harvest.
